I am an experienced writer and editor and I offer a variety of services to publishers, authors and potential authors, including autobiographies, personal memoirs and self-help books.
I have ghostwritten and edited nearly 50 books for major publishers in Britain and the USA, among them four that made Number One on the Sunday Times bestseller list and several that have been published around the world.
Some of the people I work with have part-written their manuscripts and simply need an editor’s guidance and encouragement. Some choose to have their book written for them and others want to learn how to write a manuscript that reads fluently and is absorbing.
My background is in journalism. I trained on local newspapers before working on the Daily Mail, several national women’s magazines and the Sunday Express Magazine. I also trained in psychotherapy and worked as an agony aunt on Chat magazine and later on Good Housekeeping.
I began writing books in 1999, when I was asked by Hodder & Stoughton to work with a brilliant young life coach on her book, which became a bestseller. I really enjoyed it and after that I began working with a variety of authors – some famous, some unknown but with a story to tell – writing, editing and structuring their books. Since then I haven’t looked back. It’s a rewarding and fascinating job.
What I will bring to your writing project, whether you are working on a book, an account of a private or professional achievement, a personal memoir or simply an idea you’d like to develop, is professionalism, experience and guidance. Writing can be a tricky business, but it’s rewarding too, and the end result is worth all the sweat, tears and frustration.
